Young Inventors Workshop (boys, ages 9-13)

Waiting List (8/31/15)

When: Tuesdays, 10:45 AM to 1:00 PM* (September 8-December 15, 2015; no class November 24)

Where: Creekside Learning, Bountiful

Who: Boys, ages 9-13

Cost: $225/semester ($200 when combined with Journey into Story class)

Together with an experienced mentor and a small troupe of young fellow-inventors, boys will develop fundamental skills in electronics, basic machines, and programming. As the boys use soldering and specialized tools to each make their own Arduino microcontroller, they will learn to program it to control lights, motors, servos, relays, and other electrical/mechanical components. Other skills developed will include logical reasoning, problem-solving, and component recognition and terminology.

Young Inventors Workshop participants are invited with other Creekside class members to approximately two Friday adventures per month where we will take our learning to different places on hikes, field trips, and in workshops. Additional cost on some.

*12:30-1:00 PM is time set aside for lunch and overlaps with the Journey into Story class. Classtime is from 10:45-12:30 PM.


There are numerous ways to partially offset tuition for committed and dependable parents who would like to get involved–opportunities to mentor classes (short or long-term), prepare materials, payment in kind (needed supplies), assist with variety show production, help with website design and maintenance, etc. E-mail me at bountifulcreeksidelearning@gmail.com for more information.
